Kingsbury Social Enterprise Project

Lost for what to do at break time?

               Do you have an imagination?

               Are you creative?

               Fancy a challenge?

Mrs Jennings’ is looking for keen and enthusiastic students from Key Stage 3 to join the Kingsbury Social Enterprise Club on Wednesday’s 2nd break in Room 32.

               Plasticine modelling and animation?

               Kingsbury School Calendar?

               Other enterprising ideas?

If you are interested, please see Mrs Jennings in Room 32 for more details.  KSEC will start after the Summer holidays.

KSEP: Kingsbury Social Enterprise Project.

Enterprise in the last few years has been successfully launched in Kingsbury but it has come to mean ‘business enterprise’ – selling things to raise money and make a profit.

That is one interpretation of enterprise but business enterprise is reliant in people’s willingness to spend money.

Over the next 12 months, we will be shifting the focus to include social enterprise, which is doing things for the benefit of others and developing links in the local community, for example making things to teach primary school children, making gifts for OAPs in a local retirement home and a Kingsbury Expo and website promoting the good work of students and teachers from Kingsbury school.

The social enterprise project for this academic year will comprise work from Year 8 Technology Skills lessons and the Kingsbury Social Enterprise Club (KSEC) and will culminate in a Kingsbury Expo 2012 which will include interactive displays of student work, as an open afternoon/evening.

Mrs Jennings’ has enlisted Year 11 student Jordan Hannon to help run the Kingsbury School Enterprise Club (KSEC) that will run on Wednesday 2nd break for Key Stage 3 students.

To develop business links, we hope to make links with local supermarkets to have a display of student work.

Possible topics for KSEP could be:

Autumn term 2: Religious festivals
